Raw Edge Cogged (REC) belts offer more flexibility compared to the Wrap construction Belts as the tooth profile allows the accumulation of air pockets into it, which acts as a heat absorber and prevents the increase in temperature of the drive during operation. The ‘Raw Edge’ surface on the side walls of the belt increases the coefficient of friction with the pulley and allow the belt to transmit more power than the wrapped equivalent
The teeth on the REC belts run perpendicular to the belt length, and reduce the bending stress in the belt components. They run cooler, last longer, and are more energy-efficient compared to wrapped construction belts. REC belts can be used with the same pulleys as wrapped construction belts, and are used in a wide array of mechanical machinery, where enhanced power transmission is required.

In addition to standard construction, Classical REC belts are available to order in Muscle specification for even higher power transmission, and maintenance-free applications.
