Joe Deacon

Managing Director

Joe completed his apprenticeship with the ESB, as a maintenance fitter in 1985, and having spent 18 months in sales and 18 months in Bearing & Agri spares retail, he founded the business in 1988, at the age of 23. Having started with just one employee, he has experienced virtually every task in the company over the past 28 years. Joe’s principle areas of responsibility include Supplier development, Stock control, Systems, and Developing new products. 

Using his engineering background and vast knowledge of our supplier’s capabilities from around the world, Joe works closely with many of our major OEM customers to provide the optimal solution for their component sourcing. Outside of his busy travel schedule, Joe is a keen rugby & GAA fan, especially watching his son play for Tullow & Myshall under-age teams. Joe also likes to chill out on the family Farm at the weekends. (the golfing was more stressful)

Sheila Deacon

Director & Company Secretary

Sheila joined the business in 1992, after her marriage to Joe. Having given up her career as a qualified nurse, she joined the business to work in the office, and support Joe while he travelled to generate sales and develop suppliers Sheila got involved in every aspect of the business, including picking & packing in the early days, and purchasing for the Irish company. However, she quickly developed an understanding of the accounts, and has been at the core of the financial management of the business since 1992.

In her spere time, Sheila enjoys going to rugby & GAA matches, and also enjoys walking & reading.

Neil Burgess

Operations Manager

As Operations manager, Neil ensures all operations within Distag are completed to a high-standard while ensuring the processes and tasks are overseen with quality control, labour, safety measures, and productivity in mind.

Neil enjoys taking time to enjoy his second job, and spending time teaching his 6 month old son way of life on the farm! When it comes to down time, as a former prop for his team Tullow RFC, he can be found frequently on the side-lines and at international rugby matches also.

Cathal Deacon

Product Line Manager – Trailer Parts

Cathal role can vary a lot, but typically Cathal is involved in developing new projects alongside our various customers and supplier base. Involved in managing customers’ orders and ensuring all customers receive their orders on time and are kept informed of orders. 

Cathal has a keen interest in all types of agriculture from helping on the family farm with livestock to looking at various machines and how they operate. Cathal loves both watching and playing sports, currently playing a small bit for his local GAA club while also following some local rugby teams. Alongside, he enjoys socialising, travelling and getting outdoors at the weekends.

Bart Murphy

Product Control, Development & Support

Bart is based at our office in Tullow and is responsible for Product Control, Development & Support. Bart joined us in July 2000, with years of experience in Purchasing, Stock Control, Technical drawing, Mechanical Engineering and Production roles. Bart is responsible for the supply and quality of the OEM and trailer parts range of Distag QCS products, in addition Bart also liaises with customers for the development and supply of new products.

Bart is an avid Manchester United supporter and is Club Secretary of his local supporter’s club. Fitness, running and triathlon is another passion of Barts and he has taken part in many marathons around the world. He has also completed in multiple triathlons up to and including Half Ironman distance and is currently training for a Full Ironman triathlon in 2022. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and living life to the full!

Louis Kilcoyne

Internal Sales Manager

Louis looks after several OEM accounts, providing support for Trailer and Powerdrive components, and supporting the sales and purchasing teams by monitoring product movement. He is in constant communication with our warehouse manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of daily operations.

Louis also schedules suspension fabrication and is also our First Aid responder.

Louis loves to play and support rugby & football for both Tullow RFC and Grange GFC. And with a young family Louis is kept very busy.

Kathleen Walsh

Sales Administration

Kathleen is usually the first voice you hear at Distag QCS Tullow – Answering queries, checking stock levels and forwarding incoming phone calls. Kathleen will process your orders, carry out customer service follow-up calls, process web-orders and fulfil daily invoicing.

Spending time with family is top of Kathleen’s list and with two busy children to follow, fitting in some walking, reading and socialising sometimes can be difficult.

Katrina Byrne

Credit Controller & Internal Sales

Katrina originally joined the Distag team in June 1997 as an Internal Customer Services Assistant and she is one of our longest serving employees. Performing with excellence, the role of Customer Services, Katrina went on to further her responsibilities by taking on the role of Credit Controller. Katrina spent many years in Australia, working as a clerical officer for the department of planning and she has a third level education in secretarial and E.C.D.L.

Katrina can be found on her local Kiltegan GAA field, supporting her children in their sporting careers. She also enjoys walking for exercise and reading.

Rita Gabryte

Supply Chain Manager

As Supply Chain Manager for Distag QCS Rita is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s overall supply chain in order to maximise the process efficiency and productivity. Developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors, liaising with sales managers and warehouse managers are a consistent part of Ritas’ day.

We’re not sure downtime is Ritas’ thing considering she loves MMA, Muay Thai, boxing & Jiu Jitsu, and can be frequently seen in the ring. When she is taking some time to relax, she enjoys music, travelling, technology and being outdoors.

Anju Elsa Pius

Procurement Coordinator

Anju joined Distag QCS in 2025 as Procurement Coordinator. She is responsible for supplier communication across China, India, and Europe while also managing stock reports and supporting procurement operations.

In a normal day, Anju will coordinate with international suppliers to ensure orders and deliveries are running smoothly. She also prepares stock reports, monitors inventory levels, and works closely with different departments to help maintain efficient purchasing and supply processes.

In her spare time, Anju enjoys listening to music and spending time outdoors surrounded by nature.

Dean Foley

Supplier/Product Development Engineer

In my day-to-day work, I work closely with suppliers to ensure they meet our company’s standards for quality, cost, and on-time delivery. A typical day might include reviewing supplier performance data, identifying potential risks, and following up on corrective actions to drive improvement.

I also support new product introductions, making sure everything is ready from a supply chain perspective. Continuous improvement is a big part of the role, with a strong focus on root cause analysis. Clear communication and teamwork—both with suppliers and internal colleagues—are essential to meet our customers’ expectations.

Outside of work, Dean enjoys staying active with soccer, camping, hiking, surfing, and mountain biking.

Mark James

Product Development Engineer

Mark designs new parts by using SolidWorks. He also creates technical drawings for R&D Workshops and customers.

In a normal day, Mark will supervise the assembly of R&D projects that are in-house. He also creates 3D assembly models for customers and creates 2D production drawings for our suppliers.

In his spare time, Mark likes to play tennis and badminton. He also helps out with the home farm on weekends too!

Marius Poncos

Internal Sales Administrator

Marius is taking care of all the needs of few very important customers in an efficient, professional and timely manner. He works closely with the warehouse team and does manual stock checks and client site visits are just few of his responsibilities.

He also works closely with the in-house engineering department and local suppliers to have our customers needs meets even when stock levels are low.

When Marius isn’t busy with work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also has a pet dog named Luna. He likes to go fishing, cycling, or just working on one of the numerous DIY projects that he’s constantly undertaking.

Darryn Parker

Sales Administrator

At Distag, Darryn takes different companies orders through phone and email, he’s always on hand to answer any questions they might have about our products.

When customers call or email him, Darryn is always ready to lend a hand. He listens carefully, asks thoughtful questions, and helps them find the answers they’re looking for.

He also enjoys watching movies and series in his spare time, and he’s a big supporter of Manchester United.

Diarmaid Deacon

Sales & Marketing

Diarmaid Deacon joined Distag QCS in 2025 and works closely with both the accounts and marketing teams across a variety of daily tasks. He manages customer accounts, handles counter sales, and assists with social media and marketing activities.

In a normal day, Diarmaid will assist customers at the trade counter while managing account queries and coordinating with the marketing team on ongoing campaigns. He also helps maintain the company’s social media presence and supports general sales and customer service operations across the company.

In his spare time, Diarmaid enjoys playing sports and spending time farming whenever he can.

Joanne Murphy

Accounts Assistant

Joanne is responsible for the receipt of goods and input onto the Distag system, reconciliation of invoices to delivery notes, statements and bank reconciliations. Joanne is also Distag QCS ISO administrator and responsible for ISO internal audits, also our COVID officer.

Reading and music are what Joanne enjoys in her free time.

Rares-Andrei

Marketing Manager

Andrei came to Distag QCS Tullow as a warehouse operative, his talent for IT, Web & Marketing quickly became apparent and Andrei now maintains and develops Distag website and keeps the company online presence active.

Originally coming from Spain, Andrei was more of an outdoor person, but moving to Ireland in autumn has changed his lifestyle quite a lot, and he now enjoys being at home working on side projects of his own, designing and running his own e-commerce store. We are hoping Andrei will get to enjoy some outdoors once the Irish summer kicks in!

Jamie Hogan

Business Development Manager

On a day-to-day basis Jamie will be Researching market trends and competitors, Developing strategies to attract new customers or markets, Pitching products or services to prospective clients, Managing relationships with key partners, Collaborating with sales, marketing, and product teams.  Basically a BDM acts as a bridge between a company and the outside world to help it grow and succeed.

Jamie likes to enjoy watching most sports and try playing some very badly! But mainly enjoy Hurling, Golf & Horse racing. also enjoy some farming when the weather is fine! 

Andy Butler

Delivery Driver

Working as part of the delivery team Andy ensures items are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to our clients. With daily assigned routes within Ireland, Northern Ireland & on occasions the UK Andy is surely the face our customers see most.

While Andy has a keen interest in all sports his real love in life is worldwide trekking and hillwalking as well as going on new adventures with all of his grandkinds. Covering miles in an HGV weekly, Andy has also covered many miles in many idyllic trekking trails including Everest base camp, Machu Picchu & Nepal!

James Murphy

Warehouse Manager

As DistagQCS warehouse manager James’ duties include unloading containers and trailers as well as checking the deliveries for quality issues and reporting that to quality & purchasing department.

He also trains and assists new team members on Tullow Warehouse branch & assists on organising stock and replenishing the shelves.

James enjoys concerts and gigs, listening to music and playing guitar in his free time, with a little Formula One thrown in. 

Pauric Cummins

Warehouse Operator

Pauric works closely with TEREX and TANCO role in DistagQCS as Warehouse operator, picking and packing all orders. Maintaining the warehouse keeping it running smoothly.

Pauric loves cars, mainly older cars. In his spare time he enjoys weight lifting, carpentry and being creative. He’s also a lover of stargazing and has spent many nights enjoying a clear sky.

Andrew Dedula

Warehouse Assistant

Andrew joined Distag QCS in 2025 as a Warehouse Assistant. He is responsible for handling goods coming in and out of the warehouse while supporting the picking and packing of customer orders.

In a normal day, Andrew will organise incoming deliveries, prepare outgoing shipments, and ensure orders are picked and packed accurately. He also helps maintain an efficient warehouse environment and works closely with the wider team to keep daily operations running smoothly.

In his spare time, Andrew enjoys playing rugby, hiking through the outdoors, and photography.

Owen Murphy

Warehouse Assistant

Since joining Distag QCS in 2025, Owen has been working as a Warehouse Assistant, helping manage order preparation and delivery runs. His role keeps him moving between the warehouse floor and the road, making sure products are organised and delivered efficiently.

On a typical day, Owen is busy picking customer orders, preparing items for dispatch, and completing local delivery runs when needed. From early warehouse tasks to loading vans and coordinating deliveries, his work helps keep daily operations running like a well-tuned gearbox

Outside of work, Owen is a dedicated Manchester United supporter and enjoys staying active through CrossFit training.

Joseph Fitzharris

Warehouse Assistant

Joseph Fitzharris joined Distag QCS in 2025 as a Warehouse Assistant. His role involves assembling air suspension systems while supporting warehouse operations and production activities.

In a normal day, Joseph will work on assembling air suspension components, preparing parts for production, and assisting with general warehouse duties as required. He also works closely with the team to help ensure products are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

In his spare time, Joseph enjoys hiking through the Wicklow Mountains and spending time outdoors.

Claudio Pieenar

Warehouse Assistant

Claudio joined Distag QCS in 2025 as a Warehouse Assistant. His role involves welding and assembling axles and bogies while supporting the day-to-day operations within the warehouse.

In a normal day, Claudio will work on assembling axle and bogie components, carrying out welding tasks, and ensuring products are prepared to a high standard. He also assists the wider warehouse team with general duties to help keep operations running smoothly.

In his spare time, Claudio enjoys walking his dog Milo and spending time gaming.

Jason Wilson

Warehouse Assistant

Jason joined Distag QCS in 2024 as a Warehouse Operative. His role involves picking and packing orders, setting up grease points on axles, and assisting with a wide variety of tasks across the warehouse.

In a normal day, Jason will prepare customer orders for dispatch, work on axle grease point setups, and help wherever needed to keep operations moving efficiently. He also supports the warehouse team with general day-to-day duties and takes on a bit of everything throughout the working day.

In his spare time, Jason enjoys playing golf and relaxing during his leisure time.

Eoin Byrne

Warehouse Assistant

Eoin became part of Distag QCS in 2024, taking on the role of Warehouse Assistant. Specialising in welding and suspension assembly, Eoin plays an important part in the hands-on production work carried out within the warehouse.

Much of Eoin’s day is spent assembling suspension systems, carrying out welding work, and ensuring components are built accurately before moving through production. Whether working independently or alongside the wider team, he brings a practical approach to keeping workshop operations moving efficiently.

Away from work, Eoin is heavily involved in GAA and hurling, where he enjoys playing both sports competitively.

Alan Foley

Metal Fabricator

Alan’s main role in DistagQCS is the fabrication and assembly of bespoke axles and suspensions and repair work. He is also responsible for our welding work and general duties.

As an All-Ireland boxer Alan now enjoys coaching boxing and if not in the ring can be found with his feet up fishing on the lake. Socialising and travelling another of Alans joys, sightseeing and ticking things off his bucket-list.

Tomasz Romanowicz

Warehouse Assistant, Welding, Painting & Assemblies

Tomasz, initially employed as a storeman, has since become our quality welder, with responsibility for all DistagQCS painting and assembly tasks.

Outside of work Tomasz is a Playstation and PC whiz, who also enjoys fishing and long cycles.

Sean Byrne

Assembly Technician & Maintenance

Sean’s role varies a lot here in Distag, he often works alongside our assembly team in assembling bespoke customer assemblies. Alongside this Sean helps in the quality department when required doing inspections and also some electrical wiring for bespoke lighting kit requirements.

In his free time Sean enjoys sheepdog training, part-time farming and breeding Texel sheep.

Raul Mendes

Warehouse Assistant

As a Distag QCS warehouse assistant Rauls’ duties include preparing and completing warehouse orders for mainly our belts and bearings departments receiving and processing orders. Raul is also the Distag QCS drone pilot.

In his free time Raul enjoys cycling, playing guitar, music and carpentry.

Eriks Teilans

General Warehouse Operative

Eriks’ job at Distag started on 2022, as a general warehouse operative he takes care of picking products from the shelf and packing them out for delivery and when needed, Eriks’ jumps into the van to do deliveries to local customers.

Eriks’ favourite hobby is making car stickers and he also like auto and moto sports along with loud and good music, especially electronic. And like most of the people, he loves sleep and eat delicious food.
