An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hardworking, committed, and ambitious individual to join the fast-growing Business Development team at Distag QCS.

The successful candidate will support our existing customers and develop new business, working closely with the Internal Sales Team and our Product Line Managers to grow the business in your designated area. They will have sound sales experience, preferably within one of our four product sectors. The position might suit a candidate who has worked successfully in an office-based, or service focussed, sales position, and is looking to progress.

We have a reputation for excellent customer service, and the successful applicant will be comfortable working in a customer facing environment and have the necessary acumen and personality to build strong relationships with our customer base, both from the office and in the field. The ability to grow in a selling role, and the desire to grow in a dynamic sales environment, are also prerequisites. They will also need to have sound IT skills with the ability to use our CRM system effectively, be an excellent communicator, a strong team player, and able to use their initiative, working in a highly entrepreneurial environment.

While the last few years has taught us that a considerable amount of communication can be carried out remotely, via Teams, telephone and email, when needed, we still believe there is no substitute for meeting customers, particularly new prospects face to face. The chosen candidate must be prepared to travel, to visit customers when needed, and will need to stay over some nights when their schedule requires.

We are looking for a genuinely committed individual , who will relish the prospect of joining a dynamic, rapidly expanding business, with a unique offering in industrial distribution.


Responsibilities:

  • Searching for new clients who could benefit from your products in a designated region.
  • Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers.
  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements.
  • Advising clients on products or services that will best satisfy their needs.
  • Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions.
  • Offering after-sales support services.
  • Assisting the Director’s, or other members of the management team, with any other tasks that may arise, from time to time.

The ideal candidate will have following key skills:

  • Relevant sales experience in preferably within one or more of our product divisions, i.e. Mechanical Power Transmission/Hydraulics/Agri TP&A/Bespoke Products
  • Degree in Business or Mechanical Engineering – beneficial but not essential.
  • Hands-on approach
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong Team Player
  • Sales-orientated, enthusiastic and motivated
  • MS Office suite mainly Excel & Outlook

  • Feeding back important market information to sales management and the directors.
  • Help to form policy on sales and marketing strategy using data and experience from the ‘field’.
  • Plan an effective visit/call programme, book appointments in advance, and record in shared diaries.
  • Enter concise, but informative, visit reports into the ERP system.
  • Promote the use of the online web portal.
  • Become active on social media/LinkedIn – raise the profile of Distag group and target useful contacts in your area.
  • Become an expert user of our ERP system.

On A Project Basis

  • To build a sales strategy to grow the aftermarket business in the Southern region.
  • To analyse sales figures produced to help formulate your strategy on a monthly basis.
  • Look for trends and unexpected changes in spend habits. ‘Gap’ analyse – what are they NOT buying from us?
  • Examine the business we currently have in the aftermarket sector. With the GPLMs and the UK Sales Manager, define a list of prime targets. Look to exploit our strength in all sectors of the business.

Other Responsibilities

  • The sales organisation works as a close team. While focussing on aftermarket business, always be alert to OEM opportunities that you can pass on to your colleagues.
  • To help with the organisation, and staffing, of any major exhibitions attended.
  • To help and assist the management team and directors in any projects and tasks as required.

What would success in this role look like after Year 1?

  • At least a 15% overall growth in Aftermarket Sales in the Southern area.
  • In 25/26. at least 4 new distributors ‘on board’, with predicted spend of £50K plus each pa.
  • Increase the value of aftermarket orders placed via web portal by 30% over the previous year.
  • To see our customer relationships in your area developing strongly, and their level of satisfaction at an all-time high.

About the role:

As an Internal Sales Representative, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, ensuring their enquiries, orders, and issues are handled promptly and effectively. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily customer interactions via phone, email, and web, providing timely responses to enquiries and processing orders with accuracy.
  • Monitoring scheduled orders and consignment stock levels, working closely with the purchasing team to ensure stock availability and timely replenishment.

About the role:

  • Assist Procurement Specialists in creating reports for ordering and monitoring purposes.
  • Carry out the relevant system processes in relation to purchasing functions, including processing stock once it has left suppliers and is in transit, receiving stock in on delivery and invoicing.
  • Liaise with the Sales Team in relation to backorder enquiries, assist with special quotations and orders to provide pricing and lead times, where required.
  • Assist with product creation on MRP system and maintaining product data validations.
  • Manage inward logistics from suppliers into Dungannon location. Liaising with suppliers and transport agents to arrange bookings and ensure all relevant documentation is available for clearance and delivery.
  • Carry out NI Protocol procedures, adhering to TSS requirements.
  • Assist in managing the stock levels across our locations, arranging for stock to be transferred as appropriate.

    Requirements:

    • Studied to A-Level or equivalent.
    • Basic knowledge of procurement or supply chain processes preferred.

    About the role:

    Dealing with the daily phone, email & web enquiries and orders submitted by our customers.

    Ensure all deliveries are despatched and processed, in the most prompt and efficient manner. Liaise with the Warehouse Manager, to ensure all resources are utilised to their maximum potential.


    Attend to the end of day procedure (checking of picking lists, carriage surcharge and invoicing of the despatched orders).


    Manage scheduled order requirements, and consignment stocks. Liaise with the purchasing department to ensure adequate supplies are ordered to suit lead times.


    Backorder management, check through all deliveries received and despatch all related backorders. Monitor backorders regularly to ensure we have despatched everything we can and that we deliver on promised dates.


    Follow up quotations and report feedback.


    Provide office-based support for the Business Development Managers. Submit quotations and proposals on their behalf and formulate action plans to progress leads and opportunities to successful completion.

    Attend to general stationary requirements and any marketing & literature requirements for field sales staff.


    Assisting the Director’s, or other members of the management team, with any other tasks that may arise, from time to time.

    Terms & Conditions:

    This post has the specified working hours of 40 hours per week, normally 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8.00am – 2.00pm on Fridays with a 30-minute hour lunch break, but it is required that the Internal Sales Administrator will work such hours necessary to carry out the duties associated with the post.
